AIG welcomed the resumption of scheduled service by Royal Jordanian (RJ) between Amman (AMM) Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur (KUl), following a 7 year hiatus.
The new AMM-KUL service was launched on Wednesday, June 2nd aboard RJ`s newly acquired Airbus A330 aircraft which joined their fleet on May 24th. RJ will operate three weekly flights, departing from Amman Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, via Bangkok.
Commenting on this new service, Mr. Curtis Grad, CEO of AIG said: "We congratulate RJ on the re-launch of this service, which will add further depth to the services available at QAIA. The expansion of routes by RJ is a positive indicator that reflects the ongoing recovery in air transport industry which will an important contributor to QAIA`s continued traffic growth and route diversification. "
Grad also extended his congratulations to RJ for the delivery of their new A-330 aircraft, , which he highlighted as yet another example of Jordan`s competitiveness and resilience in the regional aviation sector.
The rehabilitation and expansion works at QAIA are well underway with the new passenger terminal extending over 100,000 square meters. AIG, under the terms of a 25 year concession agreement with the Jordanian government, is responsible for the operation of the airport, the rehabilitation of existing facilities, and the construction of the new terminal.
