Amman, May 2018 – As of the end of April, Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) welcomed a total of 2,541,458 passengers during 2018, marking a noteworthy increase of 7.6% in year-to-date passenger (PAX) numbers in comparison to the same period last year. According to figures released by Airport International Group, QAIA also witnessed 22,938 aircraft movements (ACM), which marks a 0.7% decrease from last year, in addition to having handled 34,225 tons of cargo during the first four months of the year 2018, indicating an 8.6% increase.
Meanwhile, in the month of April, reflecting a 5.5% increase, the Airport registered 727,301 passengers as opposed to April 2017. Moreover, ACM totaled 6,329 movements, while cargo reached 9,534 tons, pointing to a 2.3% and an 8.1% growth respectively.
“It is encouraging to see such positive progress this April. We are looking forward to the favorable results the summer and upcoming holiday seasons will bring, as visitors all around the world pass through our halls, whether on their way to exciting destinations or paying a visit to our beloved Jordan.
