Amman, February 2019 - According to statistics released by Airport International Group, Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) has registered its highest-ever January passenger (PAX) traffic, welcoming 654,543 passengers - represented by a 4.9% increase in year-to-year PAX numbers. During the same period, QAIA also recorded a notable 6.9% rise in aircraft movements (ACM) to reach 6,063, while cargo figures dropped by 13.0% to settle at 7,026 tons.

“We are excited to see 2019 kick off with yet another upsurge in January figures. These positive results - which are attributed to the robust expansion of our route and airline networks last year - motivate us to raise the bar, outdo previous benchmarks and find new and improved ways to continue to offer an outstanding travel experience at QAIA. These efforts are closely aligned with our goals to support the local tourism sector and the economy at large, while maintaining QAIA’s standing as Jordan’s prime gateway to the world,” said Airport International Group CEO, Kjeld Binger.
