Amman, May 2023: Airport International Group announced that Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) has welcomed 2,776,748 passengers (PAX) during the first four months of 2023, registering a 51.3% increase against 2022 figures. Meanwhile, QAIA received 23,776 aircraft movements (ACM), 25.4% more than the figures recorded during the same period in 2022. As for year-to-date cargo figures, QAIA handled 19,941 tons, marking a 5.8% rise compared with 2022 figures.
In April, 713,697 passengers passed through QAIA - marking a 41.4% surge against 2022 figures. Moreover, QAIA recorded 6,174 aircraft movements (ACM) - representing a 17% increase compared with 2022 figures. QAIA also handled 5,100 tons of cargo - 0.4% lower than figures registered in 2022.
“The April passenger numbers recorded were largely due to Easter, Omra and Eid al Fitr travels. As we enter the summer break, Eid al Adha holiday and Hajj season, we will continue working diligently to ensure that everyone passing through our airport enjoys a truly positive and memorable experience that feels like home," commented Airport International Group CEO, Nicolas Claude.
